Not the case - I was on a traveling football team in my younger years (early teen). We had drug and theft issues running through the community and team. We were actually brought to see the humans in jail. I decided at that moment that it was never going to be the place for me. Maybe we should take MORE of our kids to see humans in jail.

One word: necessity. They simply haven't had to. Besides render/compute farms, we don't really need that kind of power. Most of what may have been pushed towards those massively parallel processors is now being pushed towards the GFX cards - where they DO have more than 80 cores (think CUDA, greater than 512 cores now). Most of the games out there still struggle to use more than a few actual processor threads. Some problems are linear and simply can't have more cores thrown at them for faster work.

I drive roughly 27 miles to work following winding roads. If I were to take a straight show, as a pal-v bird flies, I would be looking at closer to an 18-20mile trip. This would shave off lots of time and reduce the discrepancy in gas mileage, for me at least.

In all honesty, I have not voted as I refused the shit sandwich, the stick poke, the knife jab, the face punch and all of the above. I still complain about all sides equally as I am equally dissatisfied with what is going on all together. I am totally against the idea of party system and think the whole idea should be wiped out. I'm not a total democracy "everybody vote on every topic" idiot either though. I am not saying I have a better solution. I just know that I am not pleased with the current condition/implementation.

I agree, it is usually the FEELING that matters when it comes to these sort of things. This is the same reason people still buy Prii (plural of prius http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/21/toyota-decrees-the-plural-of-prius-is-prii-your-latin-teach/).
