Anyone who is stupid enough to pay a University via a banker to become "institutionalized" deserves exactly what they get.

In the age of the internet, if you have to pay someone to sit you in a room and teach you like a trained monkey you have serious problems that go way beyond education.

Universities are sort of like the last DINO's that hung around after the big rock thing from the sky happened. In this case the rock is the formation of the modern internet.

I would pay about $500 bucks for a Bachelors degree, max for the outside chance a University actually provided something I can't do myself with a Internet connection.

I do not agree.

I have been in the tech industry for 25+ years and most of the time foreign means cheap workers.

I would also point out out, how incredibly frustrating it is to design technology over language and cultural barriers. Especially for non trivial infrastructure work spanning continents.

I finally asked management to just send our US team abroad to work for a year, otherwise I was going to quit.

What would have taken 3 years was done in 8 months time to I would like to point out.

Einstein, Tesla, Newton, Boole.

Contributions way the freak ahead of their time, and not just the knowledge they knew, but what they decided to do with it, was probably pure genius in my opinion.

There are lots of smart people in the world, but very few of them really contribute anything beyond paper test scores or academic nonsense.

To be a true genius in my opinion, you look the world straight in the eye, tell it your full of crap, and whack upside the head with a contribution that challenges civilization at the time.

All of the above men did that, some centuries before their contributions fully took root.

I don't think Microsoft should stop Surface at all.

It has extreme promise to vastly exceed the loses it has already accumulated, and I think Microsoft should strive to hit the 10Billion a year loss threshold by 2020.

I know Microsoft can do it, the technology they provide to the world can easily match $10 Billion in losses by 2016, but only if they hunker down, and get to work.

First of all, someone doesn't like what is going on in the Far East.

They don't like the Oil pipelines selling oil not in dollars.

They don't like the elected leaders so they over throw them, and the whole thing is so corrupt, they don't even try and hide the fact anymore and use communications wide out in the open for people to record and play back of their corruption.

The reason why LINUX is as good as it is, because people who are involved with LINUX are passionate about great software. The reason why LINUX attracts people who are passionate about good software and world class engineering is because you can actually do something about these sorts of errors.

With proprietary software like Windows, that passion is crushed because you can never ever fix these sorts of things, without going to jail in the f*cking fascist corporate state.

Tolerance is lower, because YOU as a software developer have EPIC amounts of control over the software stack. You are suppose to test these things before deployment. On Windows or some other piece of shit operating system with no source code this sort of thing is tolerated much more frequently because you do not have that level of control and more importantly: Defects in proprietary software are thought of as a REVENUE STREAM, not as a PIECE OF SHIT SOFTWARE.

AS A RESULT OF THAT LOSS OF CONTROL THE SOFTWARE QUALITY EXPECTATIONS ARE VASTY REDUCED IN PROPRIETARY SOFTWARE SHIT.

Hence Windows shit, vs LINUX EPIC engineering.

I would like to add that the people who I will describe as the old guard, who brought up the internet have a generally different point of view on the topic of advanced technology. For example, none of us use social networking, either for professional contacts, customers or even general communication.

Ideas like Facebook, and LinkedIn are something akin to nosey email. Further more we in the old guard as it were see it for what it really is, just a way to sell your information and ripping you off, for really not so good reasons.

Now if I could charge everyone too look at my kitty pictures on Facebook, along with my personal information, that would be different! Hell I would even give zuckerberg, NSA and god knows who else a cut.

But they do not even do that. So why even bother.
