If you're worried about it, solve the problem at the communications layer. Wrap the dongle in such a way that it can't transmit or receive data. "What you're not getting the data? Wow that's strange. I have it plugged in." Either that or find another insurance company that doesn't track you. The fact that you've allowed a device to track you in the first place means that you've exposed yourself to risks, some overt such as your lead footed behavior is know a known quantity and inadvertent in terms of a hacker potentially changing your ECM or some other system in your car. What we need are stronger privacy protection laws as well as some insurance reform that says your rates are based on what you drive, how much you drive and your driving record. Every time you have somebody do an oil change, that information is sold and mined (Carfax etc.) so Insurance companies can verify mileage and tickets/accidents are all a matter of public record. Therefore there's no need for this kind of tech.

While they're "printing" concrete I'm wondering how the bonding between layers holds up. This looks like an automated shotcrete system to me which isn't great for ultimate structural integrity at least from what the photos show. They don't show substantial reinforcement in some of the photos in the article I'd be concerned about cracks and delamination between the layers during earthquakes or over time with general changes in temperature and humidity. I don't see how this is revolutionary since laid up concrete walls are being used all over the world in houses, apartments and warehouses worldwide. The guys come out, lay out forms, put in the reinforcement and do a continuous poor. Sure this may save on labor ultimately and the reinforcement could be pre-fabbed as well, so it may ultimately drive down costs.

to be sure it'll hurt Americans but what has to happen is the alignment of corporate taxation to the rest of the world and to reduce the incentives of companies that outsource jobs. For example, the an Executive Action could be "The US government will stop dealing with companies who use H1B VISAs to fill positions that could be done by Americans." Or. "The US Government will not source services or products from any company that has more than 10% of its workforce offshore." better yet. "The US has immigration laws. Follow them or be deported."
