Comment Re:"Thus ends "Climategate." Hopefully." (Score 1) 497

Skepticism about AGW catastrophism is rampant among the world's scientists at large (physicists, biologists, etc.), and many climate scientists have been cautiously coming out of the closet and poking sticks at the shaky foundations as well.

Cool. Please show us links to back this up.
OTOH, I can show you links that claim otherwise.
Heck, here is Richard Muller who lead the charge against AGW, who upon funding from the kock brothers, changed position.

not as long as China is allowed to manipulate their money and continue to dump their products on the west.
However, if the price of oil jumps, then it will be hard for China to keep their yuan down, without suffering massive inflation.
As it is, India and Russia are suffering massive inflation because of their manipulation of their money.

Actually, other than the fact that they are cheating by manipulating their money, they ARE prioritizing correctly. You need a decent economy to help your nation. As such, they are working hard at doing so.
In a way, I have no issue with their manipulating their money, but object, when their economy booms and they continue to keep the manipulation going, along with blocking other nations.

LOL. 1000's of rocket launches, even millions of rocket launches are not a big deal. And the fact is, that a billion car trips are not a big deal. HOWEVER, 100's of billions of car trips PER YEAR, adds up. And then to make maters worse, add in another 100% with just concrete production. And then another 100% just by coal to electricity production. Now, you are into REAL NUMBERS.

Besides, oil based cars are going away. They are too slow, too expensive, and nearly all of them are real POSs.

Not my "meme." I rarely, if ever, refer to it.

But, it's true. Capitalism relies on private control and a free, competitive market. Crony capitalism is government control and a resulting non-free market by explicitly decreasing competition.

I mean, sure, you can call it whatever you want to, but when I say "capitalism works" and someone says "crony capitalism is proof it doesn't," that's just stupid, because crony capitalism flatly violates some of the primary tenets of capitalism.
