"Nature isn't about us" I am always bemused when people say things that elevate humans above nature. As if we are not animals too. Or when we say something is "chemical" and not "natural". Is the hydrochloric acid in your stomach not "natural". What do we mean when day something is "unnatural". I believe we mean, "doesn't agree with how I see the world". Is an object that is designed "unnatural"? Like a gun or sword? What about the tools and structures that other animals fashion from rocks, sticks to beavers building dams. Wtf does unnatural even mean?

For some people, it's very important. Some Jews won't eat at places where shellfish is even served, and some Muslims won't eat at any place where pork is served, because of the risk, however infinitesimal, of cross-contamination.

There is a very real chance, in fact pretty much certain, that there are animal meat particles floating through the air all around you that you might inhale and consume them all the time. Those that are this petty about superficial BS can just stop breathing or risk being called a hypocrite.

How are loot boxes different than collectible card game sets or grab-bag sales at school fundraisers?

Digital vs physical. You're getting something that has value from a CCG or grab-bag.

Lot's of things are digital or abstract that have value. A physical MtG has almost no more intrinsic value beyond it's digital counterpart, besides the paper it is made of. I take it you don't own any Bitcoin either ;)

Jesus, fibre/isp providers do not sell services/channels. Cable companies do. With your connection to the internet you have access to bazillions or resources. Hardly what I would call a bundled deal. Most people just don't understand the kind of power they would be giving away. The OP is an idiot. I'd rather pay a little more (come on, internet is god damn cheap) than cripple something that I think is a basic right, unfettered access to information and communications.

Like, if i wanted to pay for an internet package that only allowed Netflix and nothing else, but was drastically cheaper...why not?

Because the internet is NOT a collection of services. It is a tool. Your thinking only from the perspective of a consumer and not say something like a small business. It's narrow minded to think of the internet as an entertainment service only when it is sooooo much more.
