Quick to judge, no surprise you're in the UK.

Nearly 30 years on the road and only a single incident - I'd say my record is pretty good.

Congratulations on keeping your speed variance at a minimum while tackling those hilly roads in the UK without the aid of cruise control. I shall nominate you as a shining example of what all drivers should strive to be. Maybe you'll be knighted!

Have you ever driven in an area that isn't flat? Constantly checking speed is taking your eyes off the road frequently. There's nothing wrong with cruise control and still requires attentiveness.

Adaptive cruise control is even better, my last few vehicles have had it and I get far less fatigued on long drives (3+ hours) now.

I'm in a large metro area but make a 500 mile trip (1 way) every 3-4 months. The states I must drive through have almost no charging capacity. My Accord hybrid works great for that trip as I can go door to door on a single tank. The EV works for great for every local trip my wife or I make. I think we're at least a decade away from even entertaining the idea of 2 EVs but we love the hybrid.

First and foremost - I think all social media is bad and it has severely harmed the planet. I'd be ok with a worldwide band on all of it.

However I do believe the ban on Tik Tok is unwarranted for reasons politicians are claiming. Stop letting the government make our decisions.. grow up, act like an adult, and make good decisions for yourself (generalized statement, not direct at OP).

Finally - I have a really hard time getting upset over the US gov't sticking it to a Chinese company. For decades China has been playing under a separate set of rules as most of the world. They forced foreign companies to be a joint-venture if operating inside China. This lead to enormous amount of corporate espionage. In addition they have been openly hostile (or simply outright ban) many American companies in the past... so even if we do something for impure reasons... fuck them. The CCP has for years used their domestic social media to stir up hatred for economic rivals.

My wife and I were impacted. A minor annoyance but we're also both old enough to remember when cell phones didn't exist.

Those who have businesses reliant on AT&T have a legitimate gripe as does anyone impacted by the inability to call for emergency services. The rest of us.. was honestly a bit nice to have one less distraction for the 6 hours it was down while I was awake.

Not sure if this is sarcasm. I can think of two very simple reasons one at a time is not a good idea. First, no guarantee that one egg will become a viable embryo. Second, cost.

And since this is a religious debate and not a science debate, why is IVF even accepted by Christians? If I were a religious person, I would argue IVF is against God's plan.

I'm not sure reliability is related to efficiency but rather our society's desire to prefer short term savings over long term spending. We reward the cheapest products on the market even if they suck.

Even the "high end" appliances don't typically compare to what was available 2+ decades ago. They just aren't engineered to the same standard and the build and material qualities have been seriously diminished.

I have a 2 year old A/C unit that's about as inefficient as they come (can't be sold in 5 states and is at the very bottom of the sliding scale for efficiency). It's been serviced multiple times in the past 2 years and is extremely loud when it does run. It's emblematic of cutting corners to reduce cost.
