It's not even streaming. Its downloads. I haven't bought a game on disc for so long it feels like it's from another century.

No mod points but wanted to say thanks for an informative post.
Since I've nothing directly to add I'll just say that the first thing that popped into my head when I read the summary was - 'I wonder how long it will be before this will be used as the badly deformed justification by someone pushing woowoo on Faceogram?'.
I read your comment and suffered a -2 to INT. Thanks for that.

I would suspect that the problem is similar to talking to conspiracy nuts. To argue from a position of authority is much harder than just making up sciencey sounding woo-woo.
The judge or the juror would have to understand the subject (and probably many others). The woo-woo merchant just has to sound convincing (and is probably being pushed as an expert).
...like its UK equivalent, the Daily Mail, is
So nothing like the Daily Mail then? The Daily Mail has only ever matched reality by coincidence.
He went to the same acting school as The Rock and Tom Cruise?
I'm not disagreeing with you - what you say is true. Its not smart at all. But it works. At least for the few things I use my echos for (timers, lights and music) I find that it works and it works fast.
Google on the other hand is much smarter, but it is painfully slow. I often think it hasn't heard me because the response takes so long. And when things don't work there is generally no work around, like there is with Alexa skills (try playing non-UK based internet radio if you're in the UK. Its blocked by Tunein because of a court case and yet Google still doesn't offer an alternative years later).
Totally agree - what you say, plus listening to music (I have one that connects to my amp). Given the cost though, that's enough for me to have a couple.
I mean, I can't imagine bothering with smart lights if I didn't have voice control (and I find Google to have some pretty big flaws which makes it inferior, not least of which is that its much slower to respond)
The net is also full of articles on why the Earth is flat. That doesn't make it true.
You guys. Just get a room already
Sounds like the perfect job for a robot
Do you know how VCs work? Do you actually think VCs are investing their own capital?
Tax it off them and give it to f-ing politicians and you bet your ass they'll immediately spend it down to last penny.
Good. Sounds like a plan
That's circular reasoning at its best. But even discounting your chicken and egg logic, you make the mistake of assuming that the rich risk there capital when they 'found' companies. Limited liability proves you wrong (and that's even before you get onto publicly traded companies, venture capital, etc, etc). Its only the relatively poor that have to risk their capital when they try and work for themselves.
Also please refer to it by its proper title, which is 'golden shower economics'
