Just PM'ed a buddy of mine in Cloud and Enterprise Engineering @ Redmond, WA. about this. He says he uses Windows 2012 Server as his desktop and VMWare Workstation running Slackware Linux on it. Yeah, seems weird, but he says he is more efficient that way.
Neither does "Global Warming", but people seem to drive towards it. Your point?
Whoops, you got caught contributing absolutely nothing again.
Is it too difficult to use google? The top hit goes to wattsupwiththat:

Or even look at John Coleman's points? Wattsupwiththat even pops in the top 3 of that even:

Objectively, unbiasedly and openly stated: We do not have all the answers and it's bullshit to assume we know we do.
I take it you were not even alive in the 1960's and 1970's, but that's okay as you can google it and find plenty of media articles on the subject. The particular portion of science I am referring to is the lack thereof in the entire GM agenda as none of it is peer reviewed nor capable of being proven due to lack of evidence. The Earth works in different ways at different times; Ways we only started discovery of when official record keeping began in 1914. Sure, tree rings, ice packs and geological layers give us some insight into the past, but it is far from "proven" by any means and no "climate model" to date can even predict the weather for TOMORROW, let alone the past or future.
You are on
Sorry to break it to you, but the sheer volume of implausible, unsound and/or improbable Global Warming sites far, FAR exceeds the denialist sites.
I actually file the majority Global Warming sites away with the tree hugging, PETA loving, EPA driving anti-humanitarian ones... The majority are that bad.
One of the best skeptical views originates from the founder of "The Weather Channel" and highly published personality: John Coleman.

If you read what he says and notice just how much of what he says is flat out ignored by mainstream media, it makes you really question the whole global warming myth. I still call bullshit on global warming... it is as misdirected as the 1970's global iceage scare was.
After Edward Snowden and others came out showing that neither Apple nor Google give 2 shits about their customer's privacy, I've switched to using TOR. Not only that, I limit what my Android phone can see on my PC by ONLY allowing it to connect to a VM running from VirtualBox and of course using a custom Android build.
It's time people give these fuckers the middle finger... They make enough off of us already.
How is this any different than saying goodbye when they are alive?
My uncle recently passed from Parkinson's and he had his death on Skype...
Yes, that is correct, his last few hours on this earth were streamed over a Skype call. I thought it was a good way for family to say goodbye to him though and he said mumblingly that it felt like most of the family was there in his final hours, which was his final request. The Skype thing really helped get more people "there", particularly the ones unable to fly to him due to monetary or personal requirements.

> "It's readily apparent you haven't even used Fedora in years."
Actually, I've been grumbling about it since Fedora 15, but I just never gave up grumbling about it because I am forced to use it for my work. I currently run F20 on a workstation for managing various systems both in the cloud and managed in a local series of VMWare clusters. I use Fedora because it helps me maintain a step ahead of the stuff coming "down the pipe" to Redhat.
> "but at least for enterprise distros like RHEL, standard syslogs are pretty much required"
Rsyslog is quite literally the ONLY reason several of my customers can even run RHEL7... It's amazing how many Developers/Engineers/Admins base their scripts, reports, monitoring and other functions off of log output.
In the end, I am just waiting for the market to "speak" as to whether they accept RHEL7... I am required to give it a year to know for sure. If I had my way though, I'd go back to Slackware or FreeBSD, but that's not my sole choice. As a closing, fvck deps... that is what I feel about anything from 0pointer.

*cough* BULLSHIT! *cough*
- Laptop failure to resume from suspend = corrupted logs
- Power loss or hard off on systems = corrupted logs
- Too long a log retention = corrupted logs
From an amazon cloud server running RHEL7 last couple of weeks:

journalctl absolutely needs to be improved to handle corrupt logs better... maybe something to repair them instead of switching to "clean" them?
