I remember all the slashdot shouts of, "that's impwossssuble!!!" when this technology was first announced.

And it's still impossible -- if it worked it would involve the creation of previously non-existence energy / matter. I'm not ready to throw out the First Law of Thermodynamics and accept as reasonable, the idea of perpetual motion machines until there is a lot more proof offered.

The earlier post compared launch costs of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy with four other launch vehicles -- so a direct apples to apples comparison. Admit it, you just don't like the results.

Your whining about "refurbishment costs" is beside the point. Here's a little nugget of info for you, ArianeGroup has no refurbishments costs -- because the entire rocket is thrown away during launch. Space-X has six individual boosters that have launched ten or more times each.

Your question of SpaceX's costs is only applicable after you detail ArianeGroup's costs, how do we know they aren't undercutting their costs?

They're taking a whole bunch of tech that was invented for them by taxpayers along with a whole bunch of engineers that were trained for them also by taxpayers and then a whole bunch of money paid for by taxpayers to do what used to be done at cost by the federal government and is now done at cost Plus whatever profit gets tacked on for the owners.

And yet, they're doing it for a tenth the cost... go figure.
