Journal pythorlh's Journal: Our Dragon is broken... 15
If you're reading this, you must be part of the zoo. I don't post enough to bring anyone else to my JE's. If you've somehow made it here and don't know who Sol is, then I have no idea how you managed to find me.
So I won't go into who Sol is. I'm going to tell you what she means to us.
Bethanie may be our funnybone, and Em was always the little devil on our shoulder(where are you Em? We miss you.). But Solemndragon is Slashdot's soul.
Sol is that piece of us that can give love out to everyone we meet. Than can be a true friend, the source of most of our inspiration, and a lot of our joy.
I admit that I don't follow the journal's as closely as I used to. I've been too busy. But I always find time for Sol, and now, I'm hunting to find the other JE's out there that can keep me informed.(That almost sounds like a stalker... I swear, it's not meant to.)
Sol... if you're reading this, I hope that it means that you're back. I hope that it means that you've made it back to the world, and that the pain and fog are now a memory. If you're not back yet... If this somehow finds you out in the fog that has descended, then I wish you well. You were right about strength coming from being broken. I know that you will be stronger when you return. I pray(though I'm not that type) that it doesn't make you hard. From everything you've written before, I don't think it will, but sometimes the healing leaves scars. Over time, I hope that even the scars fade away.
This piece isn't as strong as I wanted it to be... I'm up at 5AM, and not at full capacity. I'm going to post it anyway. Those of us that are left waiting need a place to talk. Our tragedy is so much less than hers, but it's still there. The zoo is empty inside.

"Excuse me," they said. "Our dragon seems to be broken." The sad group had phoned the Dragon Repair Services. "She's very very sad and having problems being her own self."
"Oh, well, that seems to be the problem with dragons," the repairman answered. "They seem rather robust and unbreakable, but they're just as fragile -- or sometimes more -- than you or I."
"We know, we know. But this dragon is special. She's our friend, and truly the soul-keeper of the group of us. Is there anything you can do?"
"Well, you'll have to describe the problem more clearly; there are troubleshooting manuals. What type of dragon do you have?"
"She's a not-so-big dragon with a heart of gold. We call her 'Sol'."
"Oh! A Sol-model. I'm sorry, they've stopped making manuals for those. The remedies were always rather odd (even for dragon remedies), and varied from day to day. You will have to let her be, so she can work out how to fix herself."
"But... but... we don't know exactly what's wrong with her, and we just want her fixed and happy like she used to be!" they protested.
"I'm sorry, children. Your dragon is very special, and needs some time to fix herself. Do what you can when you are asked -- even if it sounds really strange -- and show her how much you cared for her well-being while she was away. Poking, prodding, or prying won't help her, I'm sorry to say."
"Oh." the group sighed a collective sigh. "What are we to do without our soul-keeper, though?"
"Take turns being responsible for making others smile, and for opening yourselves up. Share in what she did for you until she is able to do so herself. That will surely make her smile when she is better, to know that she had such an impact on you all."
"Yessir. Thank you for your time," they replied to the Dragon Repairman.
"There's no charge for this repair, as I've done nothing to help," the repairman said. "Please keep us in mind for all of your Dragon Needs." The phone went silent, then there was a *click* as those who loved the dragon realized what they had to do.
