The first Slashdot troll post investigation

The last few months I have been doing some research into the trolling phenomenon on slashdot.org. In order to do this as thoroughly as possible, I have written both normal and troll posts, 1st posts, etc., both logged in and anonymously, and I have found these rather shocking results:

• More moderator points are being used to mod posts down than up. Furthermore, when modding a post up, every moderator seems to follow previous moderators in their choices, even when it's not a particularly interesting or cle [slashdot.org]

wow. Page widening. I haven't seen that in forever. That was why I started reading at +1. Over at That Home Site [gardenweb.com] I won't even read posters that widen the page (completely by accident) because of it.

Extremely anoying phenomemnon. Unfortunately even Links [sourceforge.net] cannot render it properly. Fortunately Lynx [browser.org] can render it properly. And by properly I mean vertically. And I believe I have just found a way to make links to conveniently read Wide Wide Web links with Lynx Viewer [delorie.com]. For example, using this link [delorie.com] one can
