Journal sootman's Journal: PHP 5 in Mac OS X

I just put PHP 5 onto a Mac OS X box and it was a bit rough but seems fine now. I used Marc Liyanage's package at http://www.entropy.ch/home/ and all I know is PHPMyAdmin still works. :-)

I actually installed it on 2 boxes--a G5 that didn't have PHP and a G4 that did. It went on the G5 just fine. The G4 didn't want to install the first time, so I ran all software updates (it was at 10.3.2, now at 10.3.5) and the install went OK, but Apache didn't come back up. I tried to shut it down in Prefs/Sharing (I guess it was running, but I couldn't load pages) and it hung--the button greyed out but nothing happened. So, I rebooted, went to the command line, issued 'sudo apachectl start' and it came up OK. Now the panel turns it on and off just fine. This is the box that has PHPMyAdmin and like I said, that app seems to be working fine.
