Aha! I have found my first victim!
Mister Tr0p, whom I discovered here, and deserves to have five of his comments modded up just for being alive. And why not.
If Taco has put some sort of block on giving all of your points to one guy, I'll pick another to share with and spread them out over a few modpoint episodes...

I said some good things recently, and some very very angry things.... but I still stand by my comments: that Apple is cool and beats Windows for a lot of stuff, but they're not **ABSOLUTELY PERFECT** as so many people portray them (and mod you down when you say otherwise)... and Linux WILL beat all of the other systems to death in a few years, including OS X. Distro? SuSE 7.3, recompiled and upgraded to the point where I just call it Linux from Scratch.
Man, Linux is not going to take over the home desktop market. I love it to death, but it just isn't right for the job. Try getting your grandmother to get her new USB device to work in it. Or explain to Shaniqua from accounting why none of the windows look consistant. Or why the clipboard acts oddly.

WOW. That's an excuse I can find NO fault with whatsoever. Don't leave a good party on my account! Slashdot is what you do when you're too bored to do something fun. I've been meaning to quit Slashdot, but I can't go cold turkey or I'll get the shakes.
Reading your post, I sadly must confess that you're absolutely right about Linux not taking over on the desktop... all the problems you mention

Don't. I've been having too much fun watching you go nuts over /.'s hive mentality. :-D
As for your notes about hoping - I'm inclined to agree with you and disagree with you at the same time. And I'm sad to state that I disagree with you. I mean yeah, Linux has a ton of potential... but it also has a ton of hard limits.
Take having consistant widgets, for example. Where would one even begin with that? Have KDE and GNOME
