How many poeple here try to submit stories? What's your record? Yeah, the record is inaccurate since they only started recording it after a while. I know I must have had at least two stories (or more) thbat were accepted long ago.

Interestingly, most of my rejected submissions actually made it to the front page, but as somebody else's submission. Oh, and the "When is PowerPC Not PowerPC?" made it as a quickie, but I didn't get credit for it. So my record really should be 4/4.

My first two submissions were accepted. It was kind of interesting- I got less hits on my web site from the link in the article summary than I did from the link in my sig in +5 comments. Web site has since been taken down and I don't post so much anymore...

  • I've submitted one story in the years I've been here. I remember it was about a CNN.com article on these monkeys that had been engineered to bioluminesce.

Since then, I've figured, if you can't get an article about glowing green monkeys approved on /., it's time to give up.

  • rejected (58)
    accepted (4)

Of the 58 rejected, 22 were the same story posted an hour or more after I submitted mine. Hmmm...
  • 2002-06-24 13:20:35 Nanotech foils aid metal-to-ceramic joining (science,science) (accepted)

And I think I had two others rejected (not sure if it was 2 or 1)

    so 2:1.

That metal-ceramic joining story was during my karma whore days. Infact, the day I posted that story I hit the karma cap. after that, I just didn't care anymore.
    • P.S.- that story didn't make the front page. Thank god, because once it was up pretty much all 32 of the comments were "WTF? Is this just some advertisement? This story SUXXORS!"

  • by Klerck ( 213193 )
Since the wipo troll's story submission list was already posted, I'm not going to post mine except for this:

2001-11-08 10:32:09 Yahoo! Not Bound by French Ruling (articles, news) (rejected)

Rejected? But how can that be?! [slashdot.org]

They actually accepted it and I had submitted the link to my page, so my name was linked to klerck.org in the story. Once I saw that it was posted, I changed the image on my front page to hello.jpg and received numerous hits from unsuspecting slashdotters. Many, many hours later, the editors removed the link and changed the status to rejected and also took away my three karma!

But two of them made the front page, just not from my submissions, so it could have been 5:8. Damnit!

  • rejected (176)
    accepted (27)

Keep in mind that they didn't start counting accepted until like last year. I gave up when I was 2nd (to jeffy124). Too many good stories got rejected. Was the whole point of the beginning of my journal. I posted my rejected stories...
  • 28 rejected, 1 accepted. i've had several that made it to the front page from someone else's submission. sometimes a few days after i submitted the story. i used to think they just rejected my stories on principal, but then CT accepted one of submissions. now i feel complete.
