  • They were... cars.

My dad had an 1964 Porsche 356 C Coupe. The rust wasn't too bad. :-) I was crap on a manual back when he had this guy, but boy, it got attention.

I think you know I'm a jaggy guy.

Ha... I helped build a Jaguar XJ-S once... put a big Chevy engine in it with a supercharger when the V-12 threw a crank.

Seriously though, I do appreciate Jags as well. They are sexy cars whereas the Porsche has a certain practicality to it.

  • It's just a pity they put the engine in the wrong place on the 911, and used an aircraft engine rather than a car engine :-)

You can pick up older Porsches for little money (at least back home) at the moment, first the high fuel prices, then the collapsed economy has put many bargains on the market, especially the less iconic models like the 928 and 944.

      Ha...

You can even pick up 911s for pretty cheap these days as well... The 964 is one that I've been looking at. It would be a riot to get a widebody 964 and strip it down to the essence... strip out all the interior, lower it and use it for a weekend toy.

Never ask two questions in a business letter. The reply will discuss the one you are least interested, and say nothing about the other.
