Journal huckamania's Journal: Web Site Jumps Shark 3
It was bound to happen. One of the extreme political fringe websites jumped the shark and way over stepped the bounds of all decency. I am referring to this http://dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/30/121350/137/486/580223 diary entry that slanders the current Republican VP nominee, Sarah Palin and her teenage daughter.
Speculation on the site ranges from faked pregnancy/forced adoption to forced pregnancy/shotgun wedding to charges of Republican dirty tricks in planting this non-story.
How does a site recover from a faux pas of epic fail? Will this story die like it should or will it live on as a nebulous conspiracy tale?

Considering how this story has evolved, I can't imagine any more sympathetic characters then the daughter, her boyfriend and the baby. I remember Ross Perot dropped out of his run for national office because his daughter was getting married and it certainly impacted the election that year. It cemented the idea he was a kook in a lot of peoples minds. I'm not saying that's going to happen here and I really would like to see the young Governor debate the senior Senator.
