Why there should be a test for moderators

  • It's like playing blind man's bluff. You never know who hit you, you never know why, and even if you did there's no way to avoid the knuckleheads.

    Just as with any other test, though, who decides what's objective? As long as they don't mod-bomb you down to two posts/day before you can pick up some good mod points then it's all just water under the bridge. A long while back I saw a JE where a user was detailing the ease with which an account can be bombed--and how it's almost impossible to resurrect an acc
  • obvious especially since it was 5 mod points. ... i just got an idea, figure it out if you can.
  • At least their damage was controlled. By absorbing their down-mods, you prevented them from being somewhere worse - like on my posts. :)
  • I catch a lot of ninja "overrated"s myself, just from people who disagree but know that any downmod other than overrated will be reversed by metamod. On the one hand, who cares? It's not karma or anything...Let 'em waste their points.

    On the other hand, it's mod abuse, and it's not metamoddable, so it's double annoying. I'd just like to see people who use "Overrated" too often get fewer opportunities to moderate.
