DENVER - A homeowners association in southwestern Colorado has threatened to fine a resident $25 a day until she removes a Christmas wreath with a peace sign that some say is an anti- Iraq war protest or a symbol of Satan.
... Jensen, a past association president, calculates the fines will cost her about $1,000, and doubts they will be able to make her pay. But she said she's not going to take it down until after Christmas.
"Now that it has come to this I feel I can't get bullied," she said. "What if they don't like my Santa Claus."
Yeah, Bob. Trying to celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace by hanging a peace sign on her door? The nerve of that woman. What'll she do next? Talk some nonsense about peace on earth and goodwill to men, too?

Kudos to this woman for sticking to her guns (so to speak). It’s refreshing to see somebody stand up for unpopular ideas like that.

The president who fired the entire board for disagreeing with him seems to be of the same pig-headed stock from which are drawn parking attendents that put tickets on hearses and ambulances. Nidkjærhet is the word we use here, the literal translation becomes something like "malicious complainant", which although not accurate, certainly seems to retain the gist.

Yep, nothing screams satan-worshipper quite like a big ol' "PEACE" sign. Maybe a large mural showing tanks rolling over Iraqi children would be more appropriate?
