KshGoddess's Journal: Some people dream in color.

Some people dream in color, some in black and white. Some people dream in super-3d-pump-the-saturation-up-surround-sound-virtual reality. I have been the latter lately. And that's my normal dreaming state. I've been thinking about taking up the pencil again. Only time will tell if I'm really "back to normal".

I dreamed last night (this morning, technically, since I sleep from 3a-11a or so) that I was in some sort of VR LARP. Not that I LARP. But it got me thinking about RPG's again. My brain's been too ... unfocused, I guess, to do much of anything that's enjoyable. It's been too uncomfortable to be in my house, too uncomfortable to lounge. Too much stress, with work and home. I spent an hour playing Fire Emblem this morning after dusting off the 'cube, and putting new(ly charged) batteries into the wireless controller.

Tomorrow, Ben & I are going to see the Barenaked Ladies. I work on Wednesday, and then we have *3 full days* and one partial day off together. Insanity, to think of having that many days off IN A ROW and to be able to spend them with my husband, of all people! Thursday at dusk, we're going to try to get some good shots of the city lights. I know a place that has lovely views of Black Forest and Colorado Springs. Friday, it's turkey with the neighbors.

We're only getting 2 of my brothers at Christmas, because mom waited until the last minute to buy plane tickets for herself and all the kids... but I think after the year we've had, it's probably better to have fewer people to worry about finding sleeping places for, to feed, and to transport around the countryside.

My guess is this is how they started off. I know of a band in college called "Free Beer".... so the ad would look like this:

Nothing like a few days of downtime to make life more bearable.
One of my joys in my job is that I always get the week from Christmas to New Years off, paid. The University closes completely. Granted, if a server were to die a fiery death I would have to come in and sort it out, but you get the general idea. This year my wife is also taking that week off, and considering that we are planning to get a Wii for Christmas, I expect that it's going to be a wonderful week, with no one bugging us.
