Journal blinder's Journal: A Quiet Dragon 9

just a little notice... SolemnDragon is going to be a bit quiet during the weekdays now. here work place has decided to come down pretty hard on surfing and she doesn't want to make trouble by posting on slashdot. also, she'll be checking her gmail when she gets home, so if you send her mails during the day, don't expect a response till the evening at the earliest.

    • I'm so awesome. It took me several reads to realize that there is a word missing from the subject line. You can't just insert whatever you like, but it has to be a verb. Those are the Mad Lib rules.
      • Can just insert. I'm on a roll today.
        • I dub thee NonProofReading Woman! Able to omit verbs with several keystrokes. Able to put negations where there should be none. And you get a nifty lasso rope and an invisible plane.

        Worse still, it took me reading this, then reading the subject to which you referred several times, before I figured out what word was mistakenly omitted. Sigh.

        I picked a bad day to stop ___(activity)___.

  • We had a cozy little meeting this morning about exactly the same thing. Some brilliant person thought it would be a good idea to have a fantasy football team and used the company net to do it. There were about 40 people involved and it slowed the network down horribly.

    At the end of the day, all sports related web sites have been blocked from the web access and one person was (allegedly) fired over it. Everyone else in the company was verbally reminded by our managers that internet access is specifically
