Pot Limit Omaha

Comments Filter:
  • I was playing pot limit Omaha 20 years ago. Try it high-low split. It's especially insane that way, particularly if the low hand is playing something like A-2-3-4.

I look forward to a seat in your game when I get to Atlanta next, which will likely be for the Men's NCAA Final Four next spring.
    • yeah, 8s or better...I've played that a few times. We've added it to our local game.

We play Hold Em, Omaha (Hi only) Razz (7 stud low) (Seven stud) and Omaha Hi Lo
  • I don't even know how Omaha works, to be honest. Fishfest? That's always a good thing...
    • get dealt 4 cards, then see a flop, turn and river. You have to use two cards in your hand and 3 on the board.

Like holdem with 4 cards instead of 2.

      It's pretty awesome.
      • I can see why its a fishfest... you will probably always have SOMETHING... but I'd be afraid of not quite having 'the best' hand 90% of the time.
        • The worst hand to have in poker is the "Second Best" hand. :-)
        • Some general 'rules' to LIMIT Omaha:
          1. Remember, a hole hand of A-A-A-A is AWFUL
          2. For that matter 4 of anything is bad (so is 3)
          3. If there is a pair on the board, someone has a boat
          4. In Omaha, straights and flushs are usually the lowest winning hands.
          5. Rarely will you see 2 pair or trips taking a pot down
          6. Don't play Hi-Lo unless you understand the rules of a low hand.
