  • Some are claiming the poll's methodology was flawed ... and the last NSA scandal did see support wane as more information about the program came out.

    Then again maybe most Americans would consent to having every boring little detail of their lives monitored and recorded if they thought it would keep them safe from 'evildoers'.

    Personally I believe the NSA and other Federal spy/police/defense agencies have quietly implemented TIA [wikipedia.org].

      Which is exactly the OPPOSITE of what should have happened. The initial story about the NSA spying on Americans was quite shocking, the followup of the NSA spying on Americans who were on phone calls with suspected terrorists quite mundane by comparison. Hell, I'm pretty much against EVERYTHING in how this government has persecuted this war- and I'm for that level of basic intelligence gathering.

      What do you think is more important right now - (for the federal government to investigate possible terrorist threats, even if that intrudes on personal privacy); or (for the federal government not to intrude on personal privacy, even if that limits its ability to investigate possible terrorist threats)?

      Investingating possible terrorist threats = invasion of privacy????
