It's Daylight Saving Time

Comments Filter:
  • I think you set your clocks the wrong way. ;-)

I had an hour disappear, where I will probably find it next fall if I am willing to stay up until 2am some night.
    • I only moved the half of my clocks that are still set to local time instead of UTC, actually, and I did get them in the right direction.

But check the premise of daylight saving time: the idea is we magically obtain an extra hour each day. I wasn't referring to the real hour we obtain once when we fall back at the end of the period, but to the imaginary hour we allegedly obtain every day during the period, according to the alleged purpose of this change.

      • DAMN YOU SUBTELTY! YOU TRICKED ME AGAIN!

Mostly likely my "extra" hour is going to be spent trying to sleep while our cats jump on the bed because it "isn't bedtime yet."
        • rotfl. No, I don't think I tricked you. I think I'm just having trouble getting my message across. I've encountered the exact same misunderstanding everywhere I've asked this question, including three websites and a few people in real life. Clearly I'm not saying what I'm meaning. And clearly we're very confused about what benefit, if any, we get out of daylight saving time. :)

  • try to take over the world.

sorry, for a moment, i thought i was ethelred.

For large values of one, one equals two, for small values of two.
