Just how many tomatoes can a person pick, and how much are they paid for that?
I bought tomatoes yesterday. 16 tomatoes weighing 250g and costing £1. Do your own conversions.
How much of the retail price is the picking cost? Minimum wage is about £12 or something and I could pick a heck of a lot of tomatoes in an hour.
If it is like every other company, the golden boys are being paid ten times as much to fail to do something as their equally-qualified colleagues who were asked to do the something and explained that the something is impossible to do.
Asking chatbots to do stuff is the revolutionary training that kids need!
The skillset which will bring you the most money, power and respect absolutely IS asking someone else to do the work. If you know how to build something, you will be stuck building things for minimum wage all your life, but if you know how to ask someone else to build something you can become the next steve jobs or pol pot.
I cannot wait for agentic AI to be embedded in every device because the frictionless transactions will finally, FINALLY allow me to transfer millions of dollars out of my Nigerian bank and into someone else's.
I also believe numbers supplied by companies!! Go Team AI !!
In these harsh economic times it is disgusting to see NASA once again wasting taxpayers money by making asteroids out of sugar when HFCS is much cheaper.
But is there a name for this form of society?
They clearly have too few executives. They need to hire a hundred more and also pump up the middle management with thousands more MBAs. They can pay for it by sacking most of the engineers and selling off the fabs for pennies on the dollar.
If, by technologically competent, you mean willing to spend their parents' money on shite hardware/software/content whilst allowing the entire internet unfettered access to every device they touch, yes they are technologically competent.
Is the black box recording that the switches were physically moved or that a signal from the switches was received?
Or (if the switches directly controlled shutoff valves) is the black box recording that the valves were closed and therefore assumes the switches must have been moved?
A _country_ needs to purchase $Billions of weapons, but the decision of who to buy from is made by a small number of _Leaders_, so you bribe the _Leaders_ with $Thousands and they spend the $Billions that belong to the _country_ with you.
The issue is a software thing, that is the easiest thing to conceal and misdirect.
Why can't they just falsify the update record, then if planes crash and people die simply shift the blame to the pilots? I thought Airbus were trying to be a major player in modern aerospace? So unprofessional. Sad.
Hmm. And America pressured europe to buy all its weapons and technology from America. Sometimes they were even caught bribing the governments.
"When the scientists are sidelined, the leaders are selected for their looks, and their willingness to lick the bossâ(TM) boots and wear a maga hat, and spend more time on their makeup than on the actual issues, for some reason a ton of people arent gonna trust what they say or do."
Unfortunately, for every ton of people who aren't gonna trust them, there are a thousand tons of people who think that is exactly why they should be trusted.
Almost anything derogatory you could say about today's software design would be accurate. -- K.E. Iverson
