To say less than a year, I'm sure the RIAA would pressure goverment to make sure that all other CDs are illegal to buy and sell.
On a serious note, if it could become with volume only 1.2x the cost, the goverment should write legislation to require the use of this type of disk. Biodegradeable is much better.
