And Apple too is not pleased with Oracle, as they have allowed Java to begin deprecating. Oracle has to keep it updated on the platform. So, it's all going to be up to Oracle, to keep Oracle going. They are pissing people off left and right. I love Java. I'm sad to see this happening.

The man was a 'prolific Facebook user' who had allegedly threatened, bullied and harassed a former partner online. He was served both interim and final intervention orders by Facebook, after a local magistrate upheld the interim order indefinitely."

Unless Linux goes bankrupt, I don't understand how it will die. I don't understand how it will go bankrupt either. Time to develop Linux further, is all it takes. It's not working with the typical for profit business model, so the VC stuff doesn't apply. So what if it doesn't achieve world dominance. Those days are over, and the perspective is immature at best to consider that to be a reasonable outcome for anything. What is reasonable however, is that Linux or any other OS, simply becomes a part of a large ecosystem, providing niche solutions for various needs. Most news is nothing but hype. So what. I'm going to be installing Ubuntu on 3 towers in the next couple of days in my condo. One as a dev server, the other two..not sure yet.

An anonymous reader writes "WordPress 3.0, the thirteenth major release of WordPress and the culmination of half a year of work by 218 contributors, is now available for download and comes with 1,217 bug fixes and feature enhancements. Major new features in this release include a new default theme called Twenty Ten. Theme developers have new APIs that allow them easily to implement custom backgrounds, headers, shortlinks, menus (no more file editing), post types, and taxonomies."

Apple Removes Wi-Fi Finders From App Store 461

jasonbrown writes "Apple on Thursday began removing another category of apps from its iPhone App Store. This time, it's not porn, it's Wi-Fi. Apple removed several Wi-Fi apps commonly referred to as stumblers, or apps that seek out available Wi-Fi networks near your location. According to a story on Cult of Mac, apps removed by Apple include WiFi-Where, WiFiFoFum, and yFy Network Finder."
