mrbongo writes with this excerpt from Wired: "Opening statements in the first-of-its-kind Xbox 360 criminal hacking trial were delayed here Wednesday after a federal judge unleashed a 30-minute tirade at prosecutors in open court, saying he had 'serious concerns about the government's case.' ... Gutierrez slammed the prosecution over everything from alleged unlawful behavior by government witnesses, to proposed jury instructions harmful to the defense. When the verbal assault finally subsided, federal prosecutors asked for a recess to determine whether they would offer the defendant a deal, dismiss or move forward with the case that was slated to become the first jury trial of its type. A jury was seated Tuesday."

The Ultima 6 Project was formed in 2001 by Sliding Dragon to develop a remake of Origin's Ultima VI: The False Prophet with newer graphics and a more immersive engine. Soon assembled under the banner Archon, the team members, who hail from all over the globe, have set about recreating the world of Britannia, adding an enhanced storyline to bolster intraseries continuity and building on the Ultima legacy in a way that will please fans new and old."

Dragon Age 2 Announced 183

Today BioWare announced a sequel to Dragon Age: Origins, titled Dragon Age 2. They've opened an official site for the game, which shares some vague details and concept art, and promises a trailer in mid-August. The story will apparently span an entire decade and involve a new hero, but it will be located in the same world as the original game. The site says there will be "dynamic new combat mechanics," though the same three basic classes will be available. More information should be forthcoming in this month's issue of Game Informer.

Especially interesting are all the things relating to Facebook privacy. Basically, you don't have any. Nearly everything you've ever done on the site is recorded into a database. While they fire employees for snooping, more than a few have done it. There's an internal system to let them log into anyone's profile, though they have to be able to defend their reason for doing so. And they used to have a master password that could log into any Facebook profile: 'Chuck Norris.' Bruce Schneier might be jealous of that one."

I recently switched to using a netbook as my only computer. I first had an esus eee 1000h, I have recently purchased an hp mini 1033cl for 270 and sold off my eee. I absolutely love using a netbook as I am always on the go and it is by far the most convenient thing to carry on the go. I do not game, edit video, etc so it suits my needs just fine. that said there have been moments where the extra processing power would be of great help. I think the perfect netbook would have a dual core atom and a good integrated or discrete graphics solution. I think once this occurs the reality is that the $350 netbook will be more than enough PC for a vast majority of users. I believe intel realizes this and will be extremely slow to release dual core atom for the netbook, if ever. If the day comes when dual core netbooks arrive with decent graphic solutions, I will thoroughly rejoice and purchase one. However I think intel realizes that they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they did so, so they probably wont. I'd love to get a nice 11 inch vaio, lenovo, dell, etc but they're all 2k. Screw that!
