Based on his speech patterns and such, I suspect the gentleman in the Cingular ad has muscular dystrophy, like an acquaintance of mine. It's quite unfortunate that too many people immediately label those with physical limitations 'retarded gimps'. Brilliant individuals like Stephen Hawking have shown that intelligence is not restricted to those who are without wasting diseases (indeed, most all of us are 'retarded' compared to him), and the featured artist in the ad proves that talent may also be found in those who are not whole of body. Perhaps there was more to be gained from the ad than a simple plug for a phone company, but if so, there are those who seem to have missed the message.
