I can't help wondering if this practice of releasing secret info for all to see is more harmfull to democracies then it is to more authoritive regimes. If you get caught releasing secretive info in a democracy you'll get jailed. Do the same in a lot of different regimes, you get shot, hanged, stoned or whatever. I'm not pleading against Wikileaks: I'm all for openness in all parts of life and yes if you see through a lot of things you realise that it's a nasty nasty world out there. However let's all realise that there indeed might be a plan behind this all, and that plan might have nothing to do with "revealing the truth"... My ancient history teacher learned me to look at all things from a "Cui bonum" perspective (who has benefits from situation x). So however you twist it, for now it's been mostly anti-American/anti-Western forces that do benefit from the disclosures. At this point in history Western society still (allthough on the decline) rules the world. There's bound to be lots of dirt on whoever rules the world. Worst case scenario Western society will adapt and try to "play nice" all the time, however we don't live in a nice world and the benefit might be in the hands of those that don't play nice. Lions don't catch their prey by smiling at it... There's a big difference between "moral reality" and "reality". The upcoming release of info on "big corporations" is very interesting. Still i wonder, will there also be dirt on say Mittal Steel or Gazprom, or will it be only western corporations?

I personally don't get all the fuss... I have a E72 Nokia phone, no touchscreen and it fullfils business taks at 500% the speed of any Iphone or Droid. -It get's me in places with offline navigation for free, in time. -It reads my mail when i want too. -I can get it offline whenever i want to. -It can multitask (navigate while calling, music while calling, blabla, while doing blabla) -It has a battery that survives a lot more then a day of meetings, moving to places i've never been. -Has a great calender. In short: when i compare the simple E72 to pretty much any droid or Iphone I get a phone that's -robust and reliable with great connectivity -great speed -great battery life That's about the point when i personally say: go fuck yourself with your niffy touchscreen crap. I at least get to call when i want to wherever i want to. It's sad but this, by far cannot be said for both Android nor IphoneOS. Businesses like robustness and Nokia still offers that a lot more then the others.

Does anyone know if you'll be able to *somehow* connect this to a PC / get access as a normal hobby developer to the SDK's? I can think of a ton of great uses for this controller beyond games... Domotics stuff, adapted programs control, blabla... I would personally love to be able to clap my hands, say the name of song/artist/album and get it to play. And when i want the next song just wave to the camera :-)

If they manage to play the content tune as they did with the whole Ipod thing, they'll win and indeed it will be "magic" to a lot of people. Before the Ipod there where (and still are) many an mp3 player. The silly thing about them is that it was "hard" for too many people to get decent content onto them, so they made their ITunes service. I personally would not need a device that gives me that kind of service, but probably this thing will hook into all mayor written media outlets and try to replace books, newspapers, magazines, whatever. The only thing that would make an Ipad an actual valueable asset is if they can turn it into a book you can surf on. All the stuff I've picked up about it so far is actually pointing in that direction. It's not aimed to replace netbooks, it's aimed to replace books, while still giving some other usage options. Isn't this an E-reader you can surf on? Something you can lay in bed with and read from? I bet the next step will be an introduction of an IRead service that in due time will try to do the same with written media as it has done with music.

There is no natural occurence of any EM radiation that comes closes to information carrying EM waves as far as I know. If so give me examples that churn out the exact same patterns. Again if it causes good effects it means that there is at least SOME reaction of cells/tissue to the radiation. Check out the link I posted in my first reply, view the entire "seminar", it's not bollocks, it's the result of a 28 million dollar (which came from the industry) study. Also read up on the guy that's giving the seminar, it's not "Joe-I-saw-a-spaceship", but a renowed professor that headed a multiyear program into researching the subject. Of course there are a gazillion types of wavelengths that hit us every day and have done so since the beginning of times. It's not because there are worse things that we don't need to consider the harms in this. Spend a pot of 28 million dollars on researching the subject before saying what this guy says is bollocks. Anyway again: only time will tell and surely in due time the body will adapt and stop considering EM information carrying waves as "external threat" (like it does with a lot of the other waves you mention). It's not just about direct damage, it's about how cells react to the frequencies.

And seemingly the biggest problem compared to other EM-radiation is that your body simply cannot recognise the "new kinds" of radiation it's exposed to. This can turn out bad, but might also turn out good. The only thing that will prove wether we're fucking up or not is simply time. Besides that there are of course a gazillion other factors that are known to be bad for your cells/tissues that are spread out throughout your home/environment.

Today users can still get at least *some* work done without being connected. This is another big step towards a single point of failure the likes of which we have never seen in entire human history.

Something that obviously appeals to most kids (= future market) is gaming. I can't resist to wonder what would happen if Google got into gaming and broke the de facto DirectX pc gaming monopoly. Besides that i think it's obvious someone at Google needs an OS to sync their Android data with. Damn i'm so 2000, i keep forgetting about the cloud!
