Comment government intervention (Score 1) 916

Over the last 100 years the US government has aggressively inserted itself into more and more areas of private life. Much of this intervention has been in the name of security, either military security or economic/social security. In your opinion, what is the limit of government intervention, if any? Should citizens be concerned when the government grows in size almost every year, slurping up even more of the national economy and injecting itself into our phone calls, our internet activities, and someday soon our healthcare decisions?
