It is obvious where Bush's "fuck you" attitude got us with the rest of the world. He squandered post-911 goodwill very quickly. I don't see what Obama is proposing as a roll over move at all though. Diplomacy and statesmanship can go a long way, after all. Nobody likes a bully but most everyone is at least willing to talk with a charismatic leader who vows to play fair and actually listen.
