Comment Not Notebooks, but Netbooks! (Score 1) 207

I don't like notebooks, they have a weight of +- 2.5 to 3 KG.
I bought a Netbook, just over 1 KG, so I can easy surf and mail without taking 2 KG to much with me!

Its for me, and many others, a perfect compromise. Small screen, but fast enough to mail and surf.

And thats what you need on the road?

David Tennant Stands Down From "Doctor Who" 245

Dave Knott writes "After winning the outstanding drama performance prize at the British National Television Awards, David Tennant announced that he will be quitting the iconic role of The Doctor. Quoting Tennant: 'When Doctor Who returns in 2010 it won't be with me. Now don't make me cry. I love this part, and I love this show so much that if I don't take a deep breath and move on now I never will, and you'll be wheeling me out of the Tardis in my bath chair.' Tennant will appear in a Christmas special, titled The Next Doctor, before filming four more specials in January. After that, the search will be on for the actor to play the 11th incarnation of The Doctor."

Canadian NDP Leader Praises P2P Communities 169

newtley writes "The New Democrats' Jack Layton has become the first leader of a major Canadian political party to acknowledge the importance of the Internet during a federal election. He's using YouTube to carry his message specifically to the online community, launching it on P2Pnet. 'We don't want to see hidden fees and gouging and service slow-downs all in the interests of promoting the objectives of certain large corporations,' Layton says." Other party members have also spoken out against increased internet regulation. We've been following the Canadian net neutrality debate for quite some time.
It's funny. Laugh.
