Sounds like it is time to chmod 764 the mailing list and develop a bug submission queue with required fields such as "which file, has it been reproduced, is a patch included?" Let people submit ai discovered bugs to their hearts content, just make it manageable and move it out of the way.

I have an eight year old grandson who doesn't seem interested in reading books on his own. The adults around him are voracious readers, but he just wants to get his information from videos. The problem I see with that is that it doesn't help him learn language. You don't see how a proper sentence is structured or a logical argument is laid out in a video because you don't see the words. For now all we can do is continue to buy him books, encourage him to read and write more, and explain how doing so will give him an advantage over others in the future. 50 years on I still believe that the most important class I ever took was my high school rhetoric course. The weekly 500 word essays we had to write improved my writing immeasurably. Can you imagine how near impossible it would be for modern students to tackle a course like that?

Translation: We assumed this would be easy, it's not, and this is the excuse we came up with to justify all the investor money we have burned.

The hardware isn't obsolete, Microsoft just decided that it was the easiest way to end backwards compatibility. Isn't it strange that an emulated TPM is good enough for a cloud VM but not for a personal desktop? I wonder if we will see this again if TPM 2.0 breaks and newer hardware is once again "required"

Let them waste their time. First, anyone who has worked in the mainframe/batch world knows that you are probably talking about dozens if not hundreds of programs. The most likely scenario will be to tackle the simplest ones and call it a win.
