At least let people just download the music they paid for, it wouldn't be that hard. All of this music is already available outside of the platform in some DRM-free format, so if someone wants it, they can just download it from some other website under 3 minutes. I don't think that many people will transfer to this new and pretty much inferior platform, even worse than Play Music was.

I can already see them having some kind of data collection even inside this, given the user data they can easily extract from the entire browsing history of someone, complete with cookies and everything.

Just look at the VPN they tried to make people install, and what data collection it had.

Comment Just do it self-hosted if you really need it (Score 1) 63

This seems awfully similar to code-server, which is basically just Visual Studio Code but web-based and self-hostable. Probably because they are both Microsoft products in one way or another. If you really need a remote IDE, just install it or something similar instead, or even just use VIM or Emacs in SSH. They are free(as in libre) and aren't spying on you 24/7. The whole system they have is pointless and just a way to make people more dependent on cloud-based services while also being a good cash-grab. We have seen this happen too much in the recent years, and it seems that they are trying to market them to developers more and more as well.
