Shameless plug: A standalone WordPerfect filter component is available now for OpenOffice.org. Try this URL: http://libwpd.sf.net.
WordPerfect export was pretty much always experimental in AbiWord/KOffice (libwpd doesn't even try). You're much better saving your document to rich text.
