Yeah, I only need to press 3 buttons to get \ (shift+alt+7) instead of 2 with : and I still don't like the look of the \ separator in code.

Fredrik Holmström points out some problems with this approach. The criteria for selection were ease of typing and parsing, how hard it was to make a typo, IDE compatibility, and the number of characters."
