This is looking at previous studies, not new studies. Plus, they're mostly surveys, filled out typically one time (that's once, not per year, or month, or even decade), then extrapolated over the study period. Tell me, how many eggs did you eat a year ago? How about 10 years ago? Has your diet changed since then? Or been anything close to consistent for a significant period of time? There have already been many learned people condemning this "research". It's just another attempt by big food and big pharma to discredit what they see as a threat to their bottom line. In this case, it's low carb/LCHF/Keto/Atkins. They did this before when Atkins was gaining traction in the 70s and 80s, when their millions could flood the media and there was no recourse for their target, being much less well funded. The internet is helping to level the playing field this time. Hopefully.

I don't think Anne McCaffery did any crossover stories - each of her universes were quite distinct and fitting them together would have been quite difficult and would have felt contrived.

Actually, they were pretty much all interconnected. Forgive me if I get some terms wrong, I'm going off the top of my head here, but the Federation of Sentient Planets (FSP) factored into most of her series'. Pern was destined to be a member until communication was lost. The Brain and Brawn ships were FSP employees. Crystal Singers went from member planet to member planet on B&B ships. It goes on and on. In many cases the links were mentioned kind of off-hand, very subtle. But they're there.

Multi-stage installations aren't all that unusual, but it's interesting that the first stage says: "The LibreOffice 3.3 installation files will be unpacked and saved in the folder shown below. If you would like to save LibreOffice to a different folder, click 'Browse' to select another folder." but when you click "browse" the new window says: "Select the folder to install LibreOffice 3.3 in:" When i saw that i had to go back and double-check that it was indeed an unpacking and not the actual installation. It may seem like a minor quibble, but this is the first thing new users are going to encounter, you should try to put your best foot forward by making the installation clear and precise.

This is no different that it has been since before 2.0. Not that I don't agree that it should be improved upon.

Comment Installation? (Score 1) 470

Why is it, on the initial release of what is a potential replacement for OpenOffice, there is no mention (that I can find) of OpenOffice in the FAQ or documentation? Does it not seem likely that many people will want to install LO and already have OO on their system? It would be nice to mention that we have to remove OO first. Or not? Does it install over top (replace)? Or will I end up with two almost identical office suites side-by-side? Will it give me the option of replacing OO? Or at least tell me that I need to remove OO?

Actually, you can't register the ESN of a CDMA device (in Canada) unless it has been assigned to the carrier you want to register with. They absolutely refuse to do this. No way, no how. Even efforts to deal with customer retention will fail in this regard. Your best bet, as I see someone else has mentioned, is to get an unlocked GSM device and two plans. Put the US plan on suspension or minimum while in Canada, and vice versa. Depending on your location, Wind Mobile in Canada has a nice unlimited data option.

This far down the page, I almost thought I was going to be the first one to mention this. I mean, I can see peoples' points about CG flips and too busy duels and such, but a f***ing Tarzan yell?!?! Of all the minor goofs in this movie, this is the only one that still really bugs me.

The only thing that could have made it worse would have been a thud "OOOOOF"!!! and the wookie sliding off into the water. Chewie of the Jungle.
