I've spent the last five years helping my son fight child porn charges. His ex-wife didn't like the fact that she was going to have to share custody of their two daughters and threatend to plant child porn on his computer. When he laughed at her, she went to the FBI. Lo and behold, they found tons of kiddie porn on his computer. It didn't matter that it was downloaded when he wasn't home, downloaded at rates impossible for his computer, none of it was ever accessed, etc., etc., etc. After the FBI got thru "investigating", the whole community was convinced that he was guilty of child molestation in addition to child porn. Kids who were at his house for a birthday party with a dozen other kids (and parents) told ridiculous stories, which were taken as gospel despite contrary testimony. The fact is, this is one of the easiest crimes to get a conviction. The FBI is well-aware that all they have to do is show a couple hours of the nastiest, sickest, most perverted child porn to a jury, and they would convict Jesus Christ. God help you if you're ever accused. Just ask my son.

Amen. My son was convicted a few years ago of possessing child porn on his computer after his ex-wife bragged of planting it there. Still fighting five years later, trying to overturn a 30-year sentence. All it takes is the accusation, and when it actually turns up on your computer, the whole community swears they knew you were a pervert all along and break their necks to make up stories to put you away for life. There's no fighting it - it's like trying to prove a negative. It doesn't matter that files were downloaded when he was not home, that they were downloaded at rates impossible for his computer, the files were never accessed, etc., etc., etc.

It really doesn't matter whether you downloaded something accidently, a vicious ex-wife planted it, or a cyber child porn collector stored the stuff on your computer unbeknownst to you, if someone reports to the FBI that you have child porn on your computer, you are going to jail. You'd have to have some serious cash to get out of it - I'm talking millions to hire the experts you'd need to prove you were innocent. I know what I'm talking about because my son was set up by his ex-wife during a custody battle. Despite the fact that the stuff was hidden, never accessed by his computer, downloaded at times he was working, and he didn't even have software capable of viewing the stuff if he had known it was there, a jury is not going to understand any of that, and would convict Jesus Christ after watching a couple hours of really nasty stuff. The FBI is fully aware of how easy it is to plant anything on your computer, but this is how they prove what heroes they are - they put these "child pornographers" in jail. At least that's their story. Never mind that the people they put in jail are innocent, and the real child pornographers are out there laughing their asses off at them. You are correct, there is no justice anymore.

No one can imagine how serious this problem is until you've been embroiled in a child porn case. My son's ex-wife had a child pornographer friend of hers hack into his computer and plant child porn in order to gain custody of their children. No matter how innocent you are, once a jury sees a couple hours of the most disgusting filth you can imagine, they'd convict Jesus Christ. It didn't matter one single bit to the jury that none of the material had been opened, viewed, most had been downloaded at times he was working, his ex-wife bragged about doing it, etc., etc., etc., my son was still convicted and is serving 30 years in prison.
