Isn't "overpriced" in the eye of the beholder? I'm glad I payed the 60$ for uncharted 2 and resistance 2. I got so many hours from those games.

That's what I did, but the computers still ran at a crawl. The low priority didn't change that it ran REALLY slow.

Correction: I did this with FOLDING@home, not SETI. I think SETI isn't as useful.

I did this at my brothers company too. I thought that the program "ran on minimal resources" while the computers were being used. But shortly after installing them on a dozen programs, everyone was complaining about how slow their computers were, so I had to covertly remove them to hide the true reason why they were slow. Lesson learned. At least it didn't cost me my job.

Thank you! I was coming here to say pretty much the same thing. Why bother pushing for a new system at this point? So a next system has more processing power and ram, so what? Are games today more fun than they were 4 years ago because the graphics are better? Would the next call of duty REALLY be that much better if it was rendered in 1080p instead of 720p? Innovation and quality design makes good games.

I lived in Utah for 27 years. Sometimes the prevailing "think of the children" attitude gets out of hand, but some politicians are actually quite thoughtful. Governor Jon Huntsman and DA Mark Shurtleff are two good examples of metered, thoughtful politicians. But yeah, a lot of them are douches, especially Orrin Hatch...

What's even funnier is that the USPSTF has recommended AGAINST random PSA screening in individuals who are not already high risk (above 50, history of family prostate cancer) due to low positive predictive value and high false positive rates. The reasoning is that since you are more likely to get a false positive if you are not high risk, you will then spend unnecessary money on treatment, procedures (including biopsies which can put you at additional risk, AND if caught early they haven't been shown to increase your lifespan. I.E. Prostate cancer caught early is as treatable as prostate cancer caught later when true symptoms show up. Just an FYI if anyone cares.

I appreciate the ad hominem, but as an LDS member who served my mission in Baltimore, I was surprised just HOW MANY LDS people work for the government. In fact, the CIA goes out of its way to recruit from BYU and Utah in general because many of them have clean background records and also speak another language (I can prove this quite easily, as I have about 4 friends who were recruited by the CIA right out of BYU). In Silver Springs, MD the congregation I worked in, about 50% of the people worked for the NSA.

So just an FYI, the whole "Mormons have a problems with the Feds" is bullcrap. They may have been true 100 years ago, not now.

So I have a curious question, are there any circumstances where you can hit/kill a police officer in self-defense? For example, if a policeman was arresting you under false pretenses and using brutal force, could you strike back, or are you required to take it under any and all circumstances?

Actually it's about 2/3 Mormon, and about half of those don't go to church. So your "effective Mormon" rate is about 1/3. Just an FYI. (Former recent resident of Utah)
