Comment Whatever happended to the Energy principle (Score 1) 283

When i learnt Science in school, we were taught that "Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, but can be transformed from one form into another" (I know this doesn't hold true especially under Einstien's equation E = mc2), but i guess you get the point.

So if we are going to spend the energy doing "work" by travelling, then it begs the question where we would get it from all the time?
I don't think car would run just on its exhaust, if there is not external energy system,
If the scientist succeeds then he might be on a brink of discovering something we call as a "Perpetual Machine"

You are continuing with the same mistake Christopher Columbus did, he was searching for Asian-India and he landed on America and called people here Indians.
Now when the talk is been happening on Asian-Indian drugs ... you are still talking about Native-American Indians. :)

Supermassive Black Hole Is Thrown Out of Galaxy 167

DarkKnightRadick writes "An undergrad student at the University of Utrecht, Marianne Heida, has found evidence of a supermassive black hole being tossed out of its galaxy. According to the article, the black hole — which has a mass equivalent to one billion suns — is possibly the culmination of two galaxies merging (or colliding, depending on how you like to look at it) and their black holes merging, creating one supermassive beast. The black hole was found using the Chandra Source Catalog (from the Chandra X-Ray Observatory). The direction of the expulsion is also possibly indicative of the direction of rotation of the two black holes as they circled each other before merging."
