Journal Journal: 2.0 Made in Europe
European web market is catching up with the US.
According to what Dawn Patrol says, what's enabling the European regions to start becoming low risk environments to do high risk things in, is the ascension of a class of entrepreneurs that have had success.
The Skype guys are only the most obvious, but says Hans Peter Brondmo, founder and CEO of San Francisco-based Plum (and a native of Norway) "There is at least one generation now of technology entrepreneurs in Europe, and some very visible successes.
Tech Crunch reported: "Luxembourg-based Wikio, Europe's best hope against Digg, Google News and Technorati (it is sort of a mashup of all three), has closed a 4 million ($5.3 million) Series A round of financing."
The.Next.Net published about a new European project too with a post dedicated to Babelgum a Joost Competitor from Italy.
The '2.0 Made in Europe List' also includes names like Last.fm, FON, Xing and many others...
Now it seems that the things are speeding up so I'm starting to wonder what's coming up next?!
Exciting times here in Europe!
