Freedom == Open Media? (Score 1)

Several things sprang to mind:

- Corporate media outlets tend to control content (duh!)

- Americans, by and large, don't care/don't know about the control

- Control allows re-direction/re-formation of thought/social values/perception

- Open Media/News allows for freedoms which won't exist through Corporate Media outlets (duh!)

Question1: Does anyone really care?

Question2: Does society feel safer when control is exerted?

Question3: Is it too late to re-educate North Americans away from controlled media/news/though directions toward freedom?

... stay tuned... news at 11... (in other parts of the world this is a very very serious topic of concern. I'm bothered by many of the reponses I read here in /. If this it is an indication of how many people 'think'... yuk!)
