There isn't "canadian" spelling. Its just whatever words from the british way that haven't been converted to american style yet. And its always evolving towards the american spelling. There was once a time it followed the british spellings a lot, times changed, and its not anyone's else's fault! If you don't like it and you can't accept it, then you can blame yourselves. Even the broad word "canadian" is a false word, regions are too divided. Its sure lucky a sitting president would consider statehood, the US has less to gain from it than the other side does. I think its just inevitable in every sense of the word.
