I don't think I have seen an above ground electicity (except for high-voltage of course) or telephone line here for ten years except in rural areas, so I don't see how lightning or birds could cause it.
Where do you think all your 120 and 240VAC lines come from! Where I live they put every thing they can above ground f**king bed rock cosk so much to dig.
