There are plenty of people out there who thought CS was easy. It's because they didn't complete a real CS program. Devry, ITT, (insert your tech program here) are great for churning out people with knowledge of the latest and greatest technologies, but they aren't so great about teaching the theory and background knowledge that you're getting. Unfortunately, many people don't know the difference.
Very good point. Once you write low level operating system or networking code, or start messing with automata and algorithms.. then you have to be kidding if you say a CS degree is a joke. Every single student in my school's program has spent countless hours and likely many all nighters getting these assignments done.
