tyroeternal's Journal: Ubuntu Feisty - Party In The IRC

Tonite is one of those beautiful nights where you settle down w/ a bag of animal crackers, plop down in irc, flip on your favorite radio steam, and watch the madness unfold. Its that time for another major distro release... this one being Ubuntu's 7.04 Feisty Fawn. The ubuntu website is rocking between slow and dead... or so I am told. Definitely "OMG Ponies" moments going on about every three seconds. Rumors about daily builds and mysterious sources, and that bunch of guys who think they are getting it, but wont really know it was the wrong thing until tomorrow.

Its something I find myself caught up in every 6 months... but for what? Who knows why I am doing it, I know that it can just be picked up later tonite, or tomorrow with no trouble or fanfare at all, but its nice to see 450 other people anxiously sitting and chatting away in this channel... let alone the 1,350 in the main ubuntu channel, and the thousands of others in other servers and channels that are talking about it.
