This reminds me of Walt Whitman's "When I heard the learn'd astronomer" poem. It's interesting how much further astronomy went into the mathematical and coding side of things.

There are tech startups solving boring business problems and there are tech startups solving interesting business problems. Just like how there are researchers solving boring research problems and there are researchers solving interesting research problems. It's not always about the money, there are interesting business problems too. The astrophysicists may find the business problems interesting, so they make switch over.
