The irony being that if both theories are true, then Olav is doubly illegitimate (as he's officially descended from Victoria through Maud).
What's better: up until a few years ago*, had Victoria indeed been proven illegitimate, the new King of Great Britain, Northern Ireland etc. would have been none other than Prince Ernst August of Hannover [welfen.de], notorious reporter-beater-upper.

That's something we, as a republic, can't really have but still it was close [brainyencyclopedia.com]. ;) Our yellow press has also kind of "adopted" the Swedish royal familty for the purposes of reporting "royal scandals".
