Journal tuxette's Journal: easy come easy go... 5

Well, I got some mod points and only managed to use up four of them. So typical; I can't resist temptation enough to respond to FP stuff that is interesting to me, and all the other stuff is stuff I don't feel I can mod. I didn't use up the last point because I thought I would still have it today. Oh, well.

Otherwise it's warm and sunny in Oslo. I shouldn't be here typing this. I should be out drinking beer at an outdoors cafe. But I need to make dinner soon (Mexican tonight!) and I have some reading to do for tomorrow. Grrmf! :-)

I know the feeling -- if I care enough to mod, I care enough to flame! That's why most of my points wind up used for +1 Funny.

  • I love to mod the underdogs up. There are plenty of unpopular views that wrongly get modded down at the -1 level. Of course, that's the only way to read Slashdot: -1, Flat, Newest first. Rock own d000d!!!!
    • I agree. I figure the average slashdotter works through negative reinforcement and has a dark worldview. People love to get goats so trolling and flaming is almost ar artform.

I figure my mod points are best spent supporting people that are taking the time to RTFA and respond with well-thought-out contributions. I think we get more down supporting the good ideas rather chewing up and spitting out the bad posts. Of course sometimes you have to mod down.
  • Having never been to Oslo, are there any Mexican restaurants there?

I love me some mexican food.

If there are, are they true to the flavor of what you used to get in the States?
    • Nope, nothing. Just some crap Tex-Mex fast food and one Tex-Mex joint that's a bit overrated. We have lots of great ethnic restaurants, but I wouldn't mind some authentic Mexican food. I guess I'll have to get it when I visit the US.

I really should have said we were having Tex-Mex (refried beans, tortillas, cheese sauce, veggies, etc). Mexican food is something entirely different, and far more wonderful than Tex-Mex.

Reactor error - core dumped!
