I was watching CNN and decided to google "the Spanish gave up". Results were interesting; they described the Spanish giving up territory or fights. When I googled "the Americans gave up", I got mostly sports results. This must be an indication of the amount of data referring to Spain's long history... or is it an indication of Spain's tendency to capitulate under pressure. When doing a search of "the English gave up", I get mostly social stuff; like giving up liver and garlic, or Halloween. I
